I wrote this in 2011: “In an overly saturated world of sounds, visions, and words, I give you a guide to what I’m listening to, watching, and reading.” I thought media was over saturated then? Crazy how much has changed in the music, film, and publishing industries since then.

It’s 2020 in the midst of the seemingly never ending COVID-19 pandemic.  New movie and TV options are dwindling by the day as filming is still mostly shut down, and quarantine fatigue is taking over reading time for even the most devote book lovers, such as myself.  New music is few and far, but happening.

We’re all losing our minds a bit … perhaps a good time to restart a blog?

In just under three short years, Honestly went from playing local shows around their hometown of Atlanta to being one of the top unsigned bands in the country.

With music placement on numerous television channels, including MTV, UPN, and ABC Family, and chart rankings on several radio stations and websites, the band was poised to become a major independent hit. (more…)

The late 90’s was in many ways a paradoxical time in music.  Bands such as Matchbox Twenty, Pushing Daisies, and Third Eye Blind were climbing the charts as the Boy Band Era was heating up.  The Goo Goo Dolls, originating in Buffalo in 1986 as a punk band, entered the radio waves on the major success of their now classic hit, “Iris,” featured in City of Angels.
